Here's What I've Been Working on this weekend

I started the lionbrand gift basket. I'll starch it here soon. It's the blue w/ purple dish cloth. I also have my Celtic Knot going on the wonder knitter. In the background is a puppy bag in process with one little Egg buddies that I made a hat for the other day. It's a little too big. I got the idea from: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LoomKnittingNewbies/

This is the yarn I think I finally picked out for my 2006 KAL. I've changed my mind twice now! Going to use size 15 needles

Here's another Egg Buddy. Going to try to make some more with the yarn he's sitting on. I'd like to make about 50 for my kids classes and teachers.....we'll see how that works out. Posted by Picasa

Finished First Purple Loom Scarf

Turned out great used two skiens LB Thick N' Quick Charcoal. Only thing I'd change is binding off. I bound off a bit too tight! But, it's not that noticiable, unless you nitpick as I do!

Since April First is Flash your Stash day I did it, course it's the 2nd now by the time I got it up. I almost didn't do it! I have so much. But then I saw whateverone one else had.....now I don't feel so bad. I started a separate page for those pictures. Posted by Picasa

Purple Loom!

Ok, so I finally decided to try the purple loom, I'm making a nice wide double knit scarf. It is really turning out pretty nice. One thing I did notice is that it take a lot more yarn. I only bought 2 skeins for hat and scarf.....I'll need at least one more skein just to finish the scarf. So, bummer, I'll have to go get more yarn! I used the lucet cast on for this scarf and the 'zig-zag' (I think) stitch only I wrapped every peg, not every other one. Posted by Picasa

Bunny purse and other stuff....

Here's my cutie pie in her new poncho and hat!
Made some fleece tie blankets for the kids dolls, this is just a picture of several I've made over time. Little girl loves to wrap her dolls in 'blankies', so I made her some small ones from the remants section!
Also, my first bunny purse. Next, to try some doggies!

This weekends progress....lots of time for knitting when your sick

My Project Spectrum project is done...the capalet and hat I made for my daughter. Now I just need to get her to model it for me. She was a bit cranky and uninterested today. I sorta followed the Lion Brand pattern, but I used two strands of fun fur and size 8 circulars and modified the width and length, my strips are 3" rather than 3.5".

Here's the sock I've been going on and on about the last few days. Now to make it's mate. This was on the blue KK using the half double stitch. Next I think I'll try the flat stitch and perhaps a different yarn!

Here's my looming class progress so far. This is my KAL from my group. If interested you can click the link over in the project area. This is going to be a sample of different stitches. Not sure what I'll do with it when I'm finished!

Cannot seem to stay focused.....

I have so many projects I want to do and in my 'queue' I can't seem to stay focused on one.....they'll never be done...LOL.

I did finally pick out my yarn for the 2006 KAL - I'm going to use Paton's Divine Demin Storm on size 13 circular needles. So, we'll see how that comes out.

I also picked out some yarn and fun fur to make the bunny purse for my daughter and not only am I not laughing....I'm going to try to make a version of Tonya's doggy purse for my son and nephew http://koslofamily.blogspot.com/

So, maybe tonight I'll pick one project stick with it and finish something tonight, or at least make head way!

Yarngear Sock.....not working out....

Here's my yarngear sock, it's not turning out too well, you can't tell by the picture but the sock is too airy. I tried using homespun and the stitching is too loose. The sock is way too big for me. I think I'm going to 'frog' this version and either try using two strands or some wool-ease. Posted by Picasa

What I've finished the last few days.

The other day I created this head scarf to wear while I was sitting around and just wanted the hair out of my face. Here is my son modeling it!

This is a little hat I made for my doctors little girl.
It's too cute!

Current Project Progress....

I finished frogging the hat and then remaking it. I've finished the first color of the capalet and have started the second. The other two colors are shown as well. I think it's turning out pretty nice. The directions do not say to use two strands, but I am it's making it a little heavier, which will be great! I am also using 24" circular bamboo size 8 needles rather than straights....much easier! Posted by Picasa

Project Spectrum

I decided to join this group as it sounded like a lot of fun, and since March was Red/Pink I am already making this capalet for my DD http://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/kff-capelet.html

It worked right in. Tonight I pulled apart the matching hat I made on green loom (see picture in 3/10 entry) and redid it on the red kk loom. It was just a bit too big. So, that's one done.

I am also taking all the extra fun fur left over and making 6" x 6" squares that I am going to join together and make a slip pillow case cover for either a 12" x 12" pillow or 18" x 18", haven't decided if I'm going to trim it or not, but I want to knit in button holes so it can be removed for washing.

Just received....

I just received my wonder knitter spool and my bloom loom today in the mail. I'm going to try to make this Celtic Knot. http://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/BK4K-0603003.html.

I finished my magic scarf, but it's not quite as stretchy as I would like. Doesn't really stretch over my shoulders. I had my 3yo son model it for some pictures!

A new 'knitter' in the family.....

Here's my son with his weaving loom that I got him so he could 'knit' with Mommy!

Yet another project.....

Since there's been all the talk about magic scarves lately, and the great one posted....I just had to make one, since it is suppose to be quick and easy I figure it won't derail me from my 'present' making for long. So far I have some wedding and Christmas presents planned!

Here's my scarf so far, I started this while the kids rode their 'bikes' outside today!

I am a novice knitter, and these are a few of the the projects I have in process and some I have completed.

I am making this baby blanket for both my toddlers. Although I am using 4 skeins instead of 3.
http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/khs-diagonalBabyBlanket.html
My sons is Williamsburg and dd's will be Baroque.

I am making this caplet for my daughter. http://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/kff-capelet.html Last weekend I knitted her a hat to match on my green kk loom.

I also, knitted a couple of scarves for the kids last week. http://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/kfunfetti-pocketScarf.html. I decided that I didn't like the pockets, so now I have an extra white scarf.

Another project that has been back burnered for months is this ribbon yarn tank. I have finished the back, now to get started on the front!

I am also working on a couple of secret presents that I will post when completed, on the off chance the receiver were to happen across my page! (Even though that's highly unlikely).

I have also completed the following projects, along with a few 'made' up scarves and hat patterns. Including a really pretty one using Bernat Boa.

http://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/kff-easyAccessories.html - I made the collar and cuffs, although the denim jacket I made it to go with doesn't fit....so I guess I need a new one!

I love this purse - http://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/kwe-funFurPurse.html - Just the purse I get lots of compliments on it. Next I want to try making it with Lion Suede.

http://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/kctq-santaScarf.html -
Just the scarf -

And a bag I made using left over yarn I had from other projects. I got the idea from http://www.crystalkini.blogspot.com/ -- Thank you so much. I think my yarn combinations could use some work since I did the bottom in one yarn and then switched at the sides, I like the sides though!

This is a picture of my two toddlers.
and my teenage step-daughter.

Thought I'd give this a try.....

Been reading a lot of blogs lately, and figured I'd give it a try. I've planned on creating a webpage for about 5 years now, but it is still 'in development' and may some day actually go up.
I am a married Mom of two toddlers and one teenage step-daughter. I have a lot of interests and hobbies and thought I'd write and post about them here.
